Mindy Huffman has been a court reporter for 24 years and has been with Mike Mobley Reporting for 18 years.
From Mindy’s perspective:
I grew up in Fairfield, Ohio, and I currently live in Lindenwald, Ohio (Cincinnati area). I went to college at The Stenotype Institute. After I graduated, I taught classes there before working as a court reporter.
What do you enjoy about being a court reporter? I enjoy meeting new people, and I love that we have a front-row seat for the facts of the subject case.
What’s one of the most interesting things you’ve encountered as a court reporter? I had a pro se plaintiff who came in for her deposition with a bell. She introduced herself and announced, “This is my bell. If you upset me, I’m going to ring my bell.” She proceeded, in the most dramatic of ways, to ring her bell overhead whenever she didn’t like the way the questions were going. I decided the world would be a better place if we all had bells.
